Basketball Recap: Oak Forest Takes a Loss

Oak Forest lost against Hillcrest back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Oak Forest Bengals lost to the Hillcrest Hawks on the road by a 64-45 margin. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Hawks are ranked 86th).

Oak Forest dropped their record down to 14-15 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Hillcrest, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Coming up, Oak Forest won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Kaneland at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Kaneland will roll in looking for their 26th straight victory, something Oak Forest surely won't give up without a fight. Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
