Softball Recap: West Ridge's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

While West Ridge's win against Unicoi County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolves' pitchers stepped up to hand the Blue Devils a 1-0 shutout on Monday. That's two games straight that the Wolves have won by just one run.

The victory was the sixth in a row for West Ridge, bringing their record up to 10-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Unicoi County, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-6.

Coming up, West Ridge will host Sullivan East at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.88 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Unicoi County, they will venture away from home to take on Daniel Boone at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
