Softball Recap: Hale Center Extends Winning Streak to Five

Hale Center waltzed into their matchup on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Ralls Jackrabbits. This was payback for the Owls, who suffered a 9-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Alyssa Borunda was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing six bases while going 4-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Dahl, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Hale Center always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in seven consecutive games.

Hale Center's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Ralls, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11-1.

Hale Center will have a chance to go back-to-back against Ralls: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
