Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Early College Comes Up Short

Blue Ridge Early College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were beaten by the Robbinsville Black Knights 85-28. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-14.

Blue Ridge Early College's loss came despite strong showings from Dakota Kinsey and Conor McCall. Kinsey posted 11 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals, while McCall scored four points and three steals. Those three steals gave McCall a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Blue Ridge Early College smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Bryce Adams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Robbinsville, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards. Adams is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 14 games he's played. Isiac Collins was another key player, going 5-for-8 on his way to 11 points and five boards.

Blue Ridge Early College's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Robbinsville, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-5.

Looking ahead, Blue Ridge Early College will be playing at home against Hiwassee Dam at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Robbinsville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-46 win against Cherokee on the 11th.
