Recap: Lexington Wildcats vs. Dutch Fork Silver Foxes

It was a good run, but the Lexington Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. The contest between them and Dutch Fork wasn't particularly close, with Lexington falling 48-33. Lexington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Silver Foxes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Lexington saw an underclassman step up: Sydni Anderson scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals.

Dutch Fork's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michaela Fairwell, who dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. Fairwell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christyonna Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Dutch Fork, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Lexington will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Chapin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Dutch Fork, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. White Knoll will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Silver Foxes are ranked 17th).
