Northridge had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Lakeland Lakers. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lakers, too.
Northridge let Rielyn Goodwin and Angelina Barbaro run wild. Goodwin scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4, while Barbaro scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, Barbaro posted two hits, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Mia Branam was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.
Northridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeland only posted an OBP of .333.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northridge will challenge Jimtown at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakeland, they will square off against Whitko at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
