Roaring Fork and Basalt are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Rams will venture away from home to face off against the Longhorns at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Roaring Fork has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Roaring Fork is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They lost 18-6 to Delta.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Basalt ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Gunnison 15-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Longhorns have posted since April 20, 2024.

Nate Donnelly made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Donnelly was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Elias Schendler was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Karson Schneider was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-6.

Basalt's record is now 6-3. As for Roaring Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Roaring Fork skirted past Basalt 12-11 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
