Softball Game Preview: Blackford Bruins vs. Wapahani Raiders

Blackford hasn't had much luck against Wapahani recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bruins will face off against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Blackford will be strutting in after a win while Wapahani will be coming in after a loss.

Blackford took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Marion as they made off with a 12-2 victory. That looming 12-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bruins yet this season.

Meanwhile, Wapahani was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Daleville. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Raiders have suffered since May 1, 2024.

Wapahani's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Blackford, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-11.

Blackford took their victory against Wapahani when the teams last played last Wednesday by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Bruins repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
