Softball Recap: Peebles Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Peebles had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Eastern Eagles by a score of 6-3 on Monday. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Kaelyn Musser spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Abigail Smalley and Kendall Myers did most of the damage at the plate: Smalley got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base, while Myers got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Myers a new career-high.

Peebles' win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Eastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Peebles will square off against Manchester at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Eastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
