Basketball Recap: Girard Indians vs. McKinley Red Dragons
Girard lost against McKinley back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Girard Indians took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McKinley Red Dragons.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McKinley to victory, but perhaps none more so than True Carey-Hardin, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Izaiah Redd, who went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points in addition to five boards and three blocks.
Girard's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for McKinley, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Girard will square off against West Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Branch will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Girard surely won't give up without a fight. As for McKinley, they will challenge Edgewood at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. McKinley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.
