Football Game Preview: Springfield Longhorns vs. Hoehne Farmers

The Springfield Longhorns are taking a road trip to square off against the Hoehne Farmers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoehne took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Springfield, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Springfield against Elkhart as the squad secured a 46-14 victory.

Coltin Woodhouse went supernova, rushing for 159 yards and three scores on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 121 yards and one touchdown on only six passes. Those 159 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. A healthy portion of Woodhouse's aerial production (121 yards to be exact) went to SLAYDE COHOON, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Springfield's defense and their 9.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Logan Spires and Drew George, who racked up 7.5 sacks between them. Spires is crushing it when it comes to sacks: he's posted at least 1.5 every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Hoehne lost 50-28 to Sedgwick County on Friday.

Springfield now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hoehne, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Springfield beat Hoehne 32-20 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Farmers' Jake Magninat, who rushed for 65 yards and one TD on only eight carries, and also threw for 216 yards while completing 75% of his passes.
