It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Horizon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Apopka Blue Darters. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won five matchups in a row.
Mackenzie Duncan spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
