Basketball Recap: Keyanna Goss' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Suncoast over Dwyer

Suncoast was the 42-40 winner over Dwyer when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Suncoast Chargers received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 50-36 to the Dwyer Panthers. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Suncoast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keyanna Goss, who posted eight points in addition to 16 rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Goss a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Philleah Bright, who had 16 points in addition to six assists and six steals.

Even though they lost, Suncoast was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dwyer to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maya Kutsmeda, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Liz Lynskey, who put up 13 points and six boards.

Suncoast's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Dwyer, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Suncoast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-48 victory against Palm Beach Gardens on the 9th. As for Dwyer, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-28 win against Jupiter on the 9th.
