Basketball Recap: Pinnacle Sets Scoring Season-High Against Salt Lake Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pinnacle). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-62 win over the Salt Lake Academy Griffins on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since November 28, 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Salt Lake Academy lost, don't look at Braylon Brock. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 21 boards. Those 21 boards gave Brock a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Malmstrom, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 20 points.

Pinnacle moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Salt Lake Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Dugway the next time they take the court. Pinnacle will head out to face Dugway at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, while Salt Lake Academy will play them later in the day, at 9:00 p.m.
