Softball Recap: La Crosse Logan Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

La Crosse Logan had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Sauk Prairie Eagles on Thursday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 two weeks ago.

Sophie Schmitz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Maria Weber was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Bacon, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

La Crosse Logan's victory bumped their record up to 6-18. As for Sauk Prairie, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-23.

Coming up, La Crosse Logan will square off against Sparta at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Sauk Prairie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
