Basketball Recap: Open Bible Christian's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After losing to Hart 2 Hart Academy the last time they met, Open Bible Christian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Open Bible Christian secured a 57-52 W over the Hart 2 Hart Academy Warriors on Monday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Open Bible Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Campbell Avant, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Avant has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitchell Parnell, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Open Bible Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Hart 2 Hart Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Landon Hart, who posted 19 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Keen, who went 6 for 11 en route to 15 points and three blocks.

Open Bible Christian's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-10. As for Hart 2 Hart Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.

Open Bible Christian has already played their next game, a 53-43 win against Crossroads Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Hart 2 Hart Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 0-0 victory against Gainesville Christian Community on the 3rd.
