Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Sylva Bay Academy

Sylva Bay Academy had won three straight games and Tristen Rogers did his part to make it four on Thursday. The Sylva Bay Academy Saints breezed by the Newton County Academy Generals to the tune of 72-15 thanks in part to Rogers, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points in addition to five assists and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 19 games he's played.

Kaden Pugh was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Sylva Bay Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.6 points per game. As for Newton County Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Sylva Bay Academy and Christ Covenant will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Newton County Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
