Softball Recap: Vintage's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Vintage entered their tilt with Petaluma on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Trojans. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Angie Rubalcava spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Aliyah McDonald was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

Vintage's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Petaluma, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-7 record.

Vintage will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
