The Sarasota Christian Blazers are taking a road trip to take on the Babcock Trailblazers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Sarasota Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Sarasota Christian is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Cambridge Christian just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers.

Evan Poznanski made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Babcock waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 4-1.

Anthony Brand was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Babcock's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Brand was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Brand wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brodie Hunter, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Hunter also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Babcock's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.5 hits in those games compared to only 4.83 in the others. As for Sarasota Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sarasota Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Babcock struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
