Football Recap: Braeden Vetter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Williams over Eastern Guilford + How To Watch

If Williams was feeling good fresh off their 43-0 takedown of Cummings last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell 20-14 to the Eastern Guilford Wildcats on Friday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Williams lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Braeden Vetter, who picked up 41 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Amarion Richmond handled things on the ground, rushing for 89 yards.

Tyler Whaley-Melvin had an outrageously good game for Eastern Guilford as he rushed for 78 yards and one TD, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Williams' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Eastern Guilford, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Williams will take on Orange at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastern Guilford, they will face off against Southeast Alamance at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
