Softball Recap: Petersburg Takes a Loss

Petersburg scored first but ultimately less than Crosbyton in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against the Chiefs, falling 24-14. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Chiefs this season, with their most recent loss being a 37-27 defeat last Monday.

KYNLEE OVALLE was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was M Trevino, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Petersburg's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-11. As for Crosbyton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Petersburg nor Crosbyton have any future games scheduled.
