Basketball Game Preview: Memphis University School Owls vs. Fairley Bulldogs

The Memphis University School Owls will face off against the Fairley Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Memphis University School turned things around against Shelbyville Central last Saturday. They walked away with a 44-37 win over the Golden Eagles. Given the Owls' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 204th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Fairley waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They skirted past the Warriors 60-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since January 26, 2024.

Fairley's win came from a few key players Memphis University School will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was I'Zahvien Perkins, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Issac Wright Jr. was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Fairley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Memphis University School, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.

Everything came up roses for Memphis University School against Fairley in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, as the squad secured an 86-31 victory.
