Football Recap: Poca Comes Up Short

Poca extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 2-7. They were outmatched by the Roane County Raiders and fell 44-0. The Dots were not able to make up for their loss to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Roane County, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Considering they have won seven games by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Roane County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Garrett Brabham, who rushed for 59 yards and two scores on only eight carries. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Brabham a new career-high. Koltyn Starcher was another key back, rushing for 104 yards and one TD.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Poca will face off against Sherman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Roane County, they will challenge Tyler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
