Football Recap: Poca Takes a Loss

Poca had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-7 to make it four. They were beaten by the Roane County Raiders 44-0. The Dots were not able to make up for their loss to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Roane County, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points on average over those games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roane County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Garrett Brabham, who rushed for 59 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. Brabham also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up 0.5 sacks and making two total tackles. Koltyn Starcher helped out on the ground, rushing for 104 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Poca wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 26-8 defeat against Sherman on the 7th. As for Roane County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-43 victory against Tyler on the 7th.
