Basketball Recap: Valor Preparatory Academy Takes a Loss

Valor Preparatory Academy lost against Carolina International back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Valor Preparatory Academy Owls lost 85-59 to the Carolina International Comets. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while the Comets are ranked 104th).

Carolina International got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Josiah Bridges out in front who went 9-for-11 on his way to 21 points. Those 21 points gave Bridges a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Leak, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 19 points along with six boards and three steals.

Valor Preparatory Academy's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Carolina International, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Valor Preparatory Academy has already played their next contest, an 80-40 win against Covenant Classical on the 10th. As for Carolina International, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 68-56 defeat against Queen's Grant on the 11th.
