Football Recap: Mitchell Takes a Loss

Mitchell lost against Sidney back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tigers took a blow against the Red Raiders, falling 48-7. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Red Raiders are ranked 15th).

Michael Plasencio threw for 105 yards and one touchdown. Xavier Galloway was his top target, picking up 54 receiving yards and one TD.

Mitchell is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for Sidney, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Mitchell wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 49-6 victory against Gordon-Rushville on the 26th. As for Sidney, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-6 win against Gothenburg on the 26th.
