Baseball Game Preview: Harvey Red Raiders vs. Harding Skippers

The Harvey Red Raiders will head out to square off against the Harding Skippers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Harvey has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Geauga hit Harvey with a five-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Raiders came up short against the Wolverines, falling 11-3.

Harvey saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Valentin Palomino, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was Palomino's first of the season. Trent Hull was another, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Harding lost 11-1 to Badger on Thursday.

Harvey now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Harding, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Harvey has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Harding struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Harvey's way against Harding in their previous matchup on April 3rd, as Harvey made off with a 16-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
