Basketball Game Preview: Olathe South Falcons vs. Olathe North Eagles

A classic North v. South matchup is on the schedule. The Olathe South Falcons will be playing at home against the Olathe North Eagles on Friday. Olathe South knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Olathe North likes a good challenge.

Olathe South will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Shawnee Mission East, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Olathe South narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Shawnee Mission East 57-55. The 57-point effort marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Olathe North, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 72-59 win over Lawrence Free State on Tuesday.

Olathe South is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Olathe North, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
