Baseball Game Preview: Austin Black Bears vs. West Morgan Rebels

The Austin Black Bears will challenge the West Morgan Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Austin has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 11th.

On Saturday, Austin came up short against Hazel Green and fell 8-3.

Austin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Parker, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Parker a new career-high in RBI (two).

Meanwhile, West Morgan and East Lawrence faced off in a cross-town battle on Thursday. West Morgan put the hurt on East Lawrence with a sharp 16-1 victory. That looming 16-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rebels yet this season.

The win made it two in a row for West Morgan and bumps their season record up to 8-10. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Austin, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Austin couldn't quite get it done against West Morgan when the teams last played back in April of 2022 as they fell 8-5. Can Austin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
