Basketball Recap: Attica Drops Season-High Score on South Haven

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Attica). They took down the South Haven Cardinals 60-46 on Tuesday. Attica's win was all the more impressive since the Cardinals were averaging only 27.43 points allowed on the season.

Attica's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoie Redgate, who posted 14 points and seven steals. Redgate is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 30 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Cady Hemphill, who went 9 of 17 on her way to 28 points and seven rebounds.

The win (which was Attica's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for South Haven, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-1.

Attica will challenge Bucklin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Redgate and Emmy Kirk. As for South Haven, they will square off against West Elk on January 17th.
