Basketball Game Preview: Navajo Prep Eagles vs. Hot Springs Tigers

The Navajo Prep Eagles will challenge the Hot Springs Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Navajo Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 contests -- so hopefully Hot Springs likes a good challenge.

Navajo Prep can't be too worried about heading out to take on Hot Springs: they just beat Tohatchi at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Navajo Prep strolled past Tohatchi with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 56-42.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hot Springs). They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cobre on Friday, sneaking past 76-73. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Navajo Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.2 points over those games. Hot Springs' win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7.

Everything came up roses for Navajo Prep against Hot Springs in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the squad secured a 76-42 victory. Will Navajo Prep repeat their success, or does Hot Springs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
