Basketball Game Preview: Laurel Spartans vs. Bowie Bulldogs

Laurel is 2-8 against Bowie since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Both will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Laurel was fully in charge, breezing past Bladensburg 67-34.

Meanwhile, Bowie entered their tilt with Eleanor Roosevelt on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 53-40.

Bowie's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Laurel, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Laurel was taken down by Bowie 75-40 in their previous matchup back in February. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bowie's Autumn Welch, who went 6 of 8 on her way to 19 points and three blocks. Now that Laurel knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
