Basketball Recap: Carter Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ironwood Ridge over Salpointe Catholic

Ironwood Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 58-50 to the Salpointe Catholic Lancers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Nighthawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-47 back in January.

Several Nighthawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carter Brown, who posted 22 points and six rebounds. Brown's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Lucas Anderson was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Ironwood Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Salpointe Catholic, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Sahuaro the next time they take the court. Ironwood Ridge will head out to face Sahuaro at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Salpointe Catholic will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
