Soccer Game Preview: Dunbar vs. Benbrook

Dunbar hasn't had much luck against Benbrook recently, but that could start to change on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Dunbar take on Benbrook at 6:30 p.m. Dunbar has given up an average of 6.8 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Dunbar is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to Eastern Hills.

Meanwhile, Benbrook had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.9 goals) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 3-0 shutout. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by three goals or more this season.

Sydney Chavez was the driving force of Benbrook's attack as she scored all three of Benbrook's goals, bringing her season total up to 31 goals.

Benbrook's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those seven games. As for Dunbar, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
