Football Recap: Kit Carson Wildcats vs. La Veta Redhawks
Kit Carson took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They claimed a resounding 62-12 victory over the La Veta Redhawks at home. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 88-72 loss the Redhawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2021.
Kit Carson's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. It was truly a group effort as Brennan Framel, Josiah Irwin, and Mason Marriott picked up one apiece.
Despite the loss, La Veta still got an impressive performance from Kendall Ingrim, who rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and also threw for 90 yards and a touchdown. Kaydyn Kent also helped out with an impressive 85 receiving yards.
Kit Carson will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Weskan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for La Veta, they will take on Kiowa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
