For the first time this season, Canon City will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After each having a week off, they and the Pueblo Central Wildcats will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Canon City's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-0 win over Harrison. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Tigers just coasted through the last quarter.

Gavin Reddick was his usual excellent self, rushing for 124 yards and five scores on only 12 carries. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Jake Adamic, who rushed for 116 yards and one TD on only 15 carries.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Canon City proved: they limited Harrison to a paltry 2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank William Basham for the heroic effort on defense: he. Canon City didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.1.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pueblo Central). They breezed past Pueblo Centennial to the tune of 50-15 last Friday. With the Wildcats ahead 37-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Canon City better keep an eye on Dayton Blok. He was instrumental in Pueblo Central's win, rushing for 82 yards and four touchdowns.
The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Canon City, their record now sits at an identical 2-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's game: Canon City has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 383 total yards per game. It's a different story for Pueblo Central, though, as they've been averaging only 182 total yards. Will Canon City be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Wildcats flip the script?
Canon City suffered a grim 35-12 defeat to Pueblo Central in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Tigers, Genaro Pino (who rushed for 142 yards and one score on only 14 carries, and also threw for 79 yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time.
