The team relied heavily on Luke Sharp, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Liam Shearer also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Thurston-Cuming County hadn't done well against Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Thurston-Cuming County skirted past Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy 4-3.
Trevor Trimble made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Trimble is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Braylen Wegner was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Owen Kneifl, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Arlington's record now sits at 4-1. As for Thurston-Cuming County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Thurston-Cuming County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Arlington has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. It's a different story for Thurston-Cuming County, though, as they've only averaged .361. Will they be able to contain Arlington's hitters?
Arlington couldn't quite get it done against Thurston-Cuming County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-6. Can Arlington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
