Volleyball Recap: Aliana Bremmer Key Part of Team Effort in Volunteers Win

After losing to Mingus the last time they met, Lee Williams decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Volunteers came out on top against the Marauders by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The game was the first time the Volunteers have beaten the Marauders on their court since October 12, 2022.

The win didn't come easy: Mingus scored at least 21 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 27-25, 25-27, 25-23.

Lee Williams got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aliana Bremmer out in front who had seven digs and three aces. What's more, Bremmer posted three kills, the most she's had over her last 13 matches. Madi Bartmus was another key player, getting eight digs and one assist.

They weren't the only good servers: Lee Williams was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. They are 11-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Lee Williams pushed their record up to 21-13 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mingus, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

Lee Williams will head out to face off against Prescott at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mingus, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Scottsdale Preparatory Academy on the 18th.
