League recap: St. Mary's tops McNair to extend winning streak

St. Mary's extended the longest winning streak in Tri-City this week by beating McNair, 42-18. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Rams.

Stagg's dynamic duo of Wayne Brooks and Andre Lindsey proved tough for West to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Brooks threw for 312 yards and seven touchdowns and Lindsey had 140 yards receiving. Andru Jones helped Stagg's passing attack out by catching two balls for 74 yards.

Cedrick Phillips provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Eagles lost to St. Mary's. He completed 29 passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 14 yards. Phillips' favorite target this week was Immanuel Valdivia, who caught 12 passes for 133 yards.

Jonathan Stark was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 109 yards as McNair topped the Wolfpack.

Stagg's Brooks and Lindsey have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Brooks has thrown for 2754 yards this season, while Lindsey, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 43 catches for 980 yards. Stark from Phil Soria's team leads the league in rushing with 1290 yards.

Entering into this week's contest against Tracy, Kaleb Parrish is short just 65 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season. So far this year, Parrish has thrown for 1935 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Lindsey of the Don Norton's team's is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 20 receiving yards in this week's game against Pleasant Grove to get there.

The Delta Kings led Tri-City in scoring this week after putting up 59 points on West. Brooks ran for 47 yards in the win.
