Volleyball Recap: Chippewa Chipps vs. Waynedale Golden Bears

Chippewa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Waynedale Golden Bears. The Chipps were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Bree Regan paced Chippewa's offense, picking up 20 kills. Regan got some help from Margaret Fulton and her 23 assists. Olivia King controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Waynedale was led to victory by Kylie Geiser and Audrey Troyer. Geiser had 23 digs, while Troyer had 12 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Geiser has posted over her last seven matchups. Miley Raber also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Chippewa now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Waynedale, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Chippewa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Northwestern on the 13th. As for Waynedale, they will face off against Smithville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
