Basketball Recap: Hillsboro Takes a Loss

Hillsboro lost against Nokomis back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hillsboro Hiltoppers took a 59-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nokomis Redskins. The Hiltoppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Hillsboro lost, don't look at Nathan Matoush. Despite the final result, he posted 23 points. Matoush's evening made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Mark Mattson, who scored 13 points.

Hillsboro's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Nokomis, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillsboro will challenge North Mac at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nokomis, they will face off against Pawnee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
