Basketball Game Preview: Providence Catholic Celtics vs. Plainfield Central Wildcats

Providence Catholic saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They fell just short of Lemont by a score of 59-56. The loss continues a trend for the Celtics in their meetings with the Lemont HS: they've now lost three in a row.

Plainfield Central hadn't beaten Bradley-Bourbonnais on the road since November 26, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Boilermakers by a score of 55-46.

Providence Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Plainfield Central, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Providence Catholic couldn't quite finish off Plainfield Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 and fell 47-45. Can the Celtics avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
