Softball Recap: Illinois Lutheran Comes Up Short

Illinois Lutheran was the 15-9 winner over Donovan when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Chargers fell 5-1 to the Wildcats on Wednesday. The Chargers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Lola Spada spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Illinois Lutheran saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Jacobucci, who went 1-for-4 with one run.

Illinois Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Donovan, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-12.
