Recap: Tippecanoe Valley Vikings vs. Kokomo Wildkats
The Tippecanoe Valley Vikings waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 41-32 victory over Kokomo.
Tippecanoe Valley was led to victory by Kelsey Cox and Ava Egolf. Cox scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Egolf scored 14 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Smith, who scored seven points.
Aijia Elliott and Regan McClain certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Elliott dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while McClain scored six points along with five rebounds.
Tippecanoe Valley has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Kokomo, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tippecanoe Valley will take on Wawasee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wawasee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Tuesday. As for Kokomo, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Muncie Central at 6:00 p.m. Muncie Central has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30.
