Volleyball Recap: Melba Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Melba was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Nampa Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs came up short against The Ambrose School Archers on Monday, falling 3-0. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Archers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: The Ambrose School scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-18, 25-19.

Scarlett Fernandez was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 12 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Melba has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season. As for The Ambrose School, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-4.

Melba wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Compass Charter on the 14th. As for The Ambrose School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Vision on the 14th.
