Recap: Silver Creek Raptors vs. Mead Mavericks
The Silver Creek Raptors came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Mead by a score of 57-48. For Silver Creek, this counts as revenge for the 83-70 loss Mead walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Gabe Selby, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Luke Schmeeckle was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Mead still got an impressive performance from Dominic McLawrence, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Angelo, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Silver Creek pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mead, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Silver Creek will head out on the road to face off against Windsor at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Windsor focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday. As for Mead, they will be playing at home against Centaurus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Centaurus will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Mead is ranked 34th).
