Baseball Recap: Legacy Charter Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cornerstone Charter Academy last Wednesday, Legacy Charter came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the Freedom Patriots on Friday, falling 12-2. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Legacy Charter got a good showing from Marcus Robles, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Robles hasn't allowed a single hit since back in February.

On the hitting side, Legacy Charter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Barnard, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Legacy Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Freedom, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-13.

Coming up, Legacy Charter will look to defend their home field on Monday against Oasis Christian at 7:00 p.m. As for Freedom, they will head out to square off against Lake Buena Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
