Baseball Recap: Jennings Extends Winning Streak to Three

Jennings waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Hamilton Christian Warriors with a sharp 9-2 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Tyler Guidry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Jennings is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Ryan Reed was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Jennings' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Grayson Whitehead also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Jennings pushed their record up to 9-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton Christian, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jennings will host Crowley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hamilton Christian, they will face off against East Beauregard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
