Basketball Recap: Howard Falls to Mill Springs Academy in First Game of Season

Howard had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 66-65 to Mill Springs Academy. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mill Springs Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, Howard still got an impressive performance from Keegan Roberts, who posted 30 points. Roberts' evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. Another player making a difference was Elias Garner, who earned eight points.

The win got Mill Springs Academy back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Howard will face off against Cottage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hawks are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mill Springs Academy, they will challenge Northwest Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
