Basketball Recap: Lordstown Comes Up Short

Lordstown lost against Maplewood back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lordstown Red Devils took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maplewood Rockets. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maplewood found their leader in sophomore Steve Manes, who went 5 of 8 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Shipman, who posted eight points and three steals.

Lordstown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Maplewood, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Lordstown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-25 loss against Mineral Ridge on the 21st. As for Maplewood, they will welcome Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th.
